Seasonal Allergies

My dog has what I assume are seasonal allergies, he had the exact same thing last summer, he gets a minor rash on his belly and on the front of his neck. Is there anything I can do to alleviate it? ~ Kathy

Hi Kathy,
He does sound like he has atopic dermatitis (seasonal allergies). You can try benadryl (diphenhydraimine hydrochloride). You can give a whole tablet for a dog 25 lbs.# and over up to three times per day. If this does not work, he may need a prescription medication. We also will allergy test dogs if it severe.
